Cookie & Tracking Policy

We use a small number of cookies and similar storage technologies (local storage, session storage, device identifiers) to operate the SpareAGrade service. This page describes what they're for and how to control them. For more detail on how we handle personal information generally, see the Privacy Policy.
Categories
- Strictly necessary — authentication tokens, session state, security features (e.g., CSRF), invite-system gating, rate-limit identifiers. These cannot be disabled while you are signed in.
- Functional — saved preferences (theme, view options).
- Analytics / performance — usage statistics (via Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless) and crash / performance monitoring (via Sentry). Used in aggregate to improve the Service.
- Advertising / targeting — none currently. If we add any in the future, we will obtain opt-in consent in jurisdictions that require it before any such SDK fires.
Consent & Choices
- Browser and mobile OS settings allow you to block or delete cookies, or reset advertising IDs. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Service from functioning.
- EEA, UK, and similar opt-in jurisdictions:when we add non-essential analytics or advertising SDKs that require consent, we will display a banner with equal "Accept" and "Reject" options before any such SDK fires, and we will honor Global Privacy Control where applicable.
- Some third-party services we use may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies — see each vendor's policy linked from the sub-processor list in the Privacy Policy.
Retention
Cookie lifetimes vary by purpose. Authentication cookies last for the duration of your session and any "remember me" period; preference cookies last until cleared; analytics cookies last up to 13 months unless cleared sooner.
